The National Organization for Women (NOW) is a multi-issue organization consisting of a diverse group of women and men working together to ensure that women and girls have all the rights, privileges, and responsibilities that men and boys have in the United States and its territories and possessions. NOW focuses on political, social and economic equality for all women and girls.
Webster's Dictionary defines "feminism" as the policy, practice or advocacy of political, social and economic equality for women. That makes NOW a feminist organization!

NOW has more than a quarter of a million members and hundreds of chapters around the country, and overseas. In California there are 40 chapters. San Luis Obispo is one of the few chapters outside a major metropolitan area. We serve members from Monterey to the north to Santa Maria to the south and inland to the Central Valley.
