PURPOSE: The San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society
(SLOCGS) was founded in 1967. Its objectives are:
1. The EDUCATION of members and the public in
genealogy research techniques.
2. The COLLECTION, PRESERVATION, and HOUSING of
historical and genealogical records, providing record access,
facilities, and staff assistance for genealogical research.
MEETINGS: The Society meets on the first Saturday of each month - except July,
August, and December - at the Independent Order of Odd
Fellows (IOOF) Hall, 520 Dana Street, San Luis Obispo, CA. The general public is welcomed!
MEETING SCHEDULE: (may vary - see details for individual months below) 12:30 PM Research Class. 1:00 PM Business meeting. 1:15 PM Check-in, publication sales, freebies, tickets for drawing, refreshments. 1:45 PM Drawing. 1:50 PM Program, guest speakers (see monthly programs below). Membership Dues:
- Individual - $22 per
year
- Family - $26 per year for existing Family members only. Not available for new members
- Individual Life - $264 one time
fee
- Supporting - $500 one time fee
- Benefactor - $1,000 one time
fee
Note: 1.Dues for members are for a period of one year from
the date of payment.
2. Individual Life Membership is indexed to 12
times the Individual Membership fee for the subscription year.
