This section is really rather strange. I've created pictures with accompanying captions and some questions. You can use these to help young authors build a real story. The best way to do this is to have them dictate while you write it verbatim. Then they can go back and edit the crummy parts. I like to let kids work in small teams. One of my groups actually won a little prize for literature in their school paper. I typed it, but THEY wrote it.  Here is an example of an Unwritten Story:

 


The Case of the Hard Boiled Holdup
               or
             Poached Eggs 

"You're in a peck of trouble now!" they cackled.

"No way! I work for the Kentucky Colonol," he crowed.

Then they knew that without a miracle, their goose was cooked!


Some Questions:
Who is "the Colonol" in this story?
Where is the man taking the bag?
What is inside the bag?
How will Sgt. Cluck become involved with the story?
